What is a good men's hairstyle for a guy with a long narrow face and fine hair?

I have a very long narrow face with a high crown and somewhat pointed features (nose, chin). Ya I know, lovely. To top it off my hair is very fine and lifeless. I have literally never had a haircut that I was happy with.


I have been to more stylists than I can count and I never get something individual. I've paid from $15 to $150 for haircut and just get the latest ';trend'; or whatever the last dozen guys had. I've been tempted to just shave my head and be done with it but that would be beyond horrific.

Questions on a certain men's hairstyle...?

So at the moment I am growing out my hair for a mop style hair cut. I've had it before and know it will work for me. I have straight hair that is pretty easy to work with. The picture I linked below is what I'm going for, maybe a little shorter though. But what my questions are is, How can I get my hair to somewhat naturally flip out at the ends like in the picture. I know some work will be involved but I imagine how the layers are cut plays a big role? Also, is there any shampoo's I can use to speed up the growing process a little, or even thicken my hair?

Ok there are two names for this , your picture would be called white walls this is a marine corp haircut . The other if your hair was to your sholders would be an undercut tieback with a poneytail hanging from the top of the head . I hope this answers your question

I'm looking for a good haircut for my boyfriend, but these haircuts for men are really all the same! It's driving me crazy.


His face shape is very similar to Johnny Depp's; he has a very slim face, high cheekbones, and a narrow chin. He has Very thick hair, and right now it's a little past shoulder-length, kept tied back, so any length hair you suggest will fall within range, lol. Keep it long but layer it up. Keep him out of the barber shops. Go to a good salon and have the stylist layer it up as she would for a woman. Trust me--it will look great on him, and he won't lose his masculinity. First stop getting your hair cut as often as you do so that it can grow out. When it gets to an inch long start brushing it forward when you come out of the shower/bath.


Then get a short back and sides but ask your hairdresser to graduate it so that it's still longer on top but goes up gradually.


Give them a picture of what you want and they can give you more advice but you also want to remember that with those styles you need it to be longer in the front and perhaps a non visible side parting.

What I suggest that you do is print off the photo that you like and go to a stylist in a salon instead of a barber.

I have thick, straw like hair, dark/messy blonde in color. When it gets shaggier, it likes to curl up on the sides and it makes it look not good at all!





My head/face shape is normal I think, or at least what people tell me. I fret that I have a big head though, and that making it look messy (in a good way) will make it look even bigger and spiking it as well.

Hi. At present I have short cropped hair. Short neat hair looks good in my profession. I used to have nice wavy hair. Not good when you have to wear a forage cap. Take a few pictures of the same style with you but at different angles. If your not happy make sure you tell them and don鈥檛 leave until your happy with it. No one should have to put with bad hairstylists anymore!

It really does depend on your look, but the 2 best things I have found would be using one of two products. Either use American Crew Forming Creme and put it on the top of your head, flip it up in the front and mess it up on top to get that just been sexed look. Or you could use a gel (prefer Jack Black) and do the same style mentioned above, both of these look good. And these consist of longer on top then the sides for your haircut.

Long men's hairstyle?

I'm looking for a good long hairstyle for me. Right now it is somewhat short, with the sides just touching my ears and the bangs coming to within an inch of my eyebrows.

I would say go to a salon and tell them to DEEP POINT CUT IT (NO BLUNT CUTTING), then do that each time you have it cut. you can do this with short or long and looks great either way. what that will do is give a lots of texture, and movement to your hair, and it will get rid of weight and bulkiness. leaving you with a very, low maintenance good conservative yet librally trendy looking mens hair cut.... im telling you, you will love it. good luck, hope that helps and OH to style it put some gel in it while your hair is wet and let it air dry, you only need no more than a quarter size dot on your hand to rub all over in your hair.Long men's hairstyle?

I have thick, straw like hair, dark/messy blonde in color. When it gets shaggier, it likes to curl up on the sides and it makes it look not good at all!





My head/face shape is normal I think, or at least what people tell me. I fret that I have a big head though, and that making it look messy (in a good way) will make it look even bigger and spiking it as well.

well i have lots of experience with growing hair. for your hair to get as long as in the pic it wont take you more than 2 - 3 months really. as for trimming, i think that trimming doesnt really help - it does make your hair look mroe helathy but if you take good enough care of it, you wont need trims and no, trims dont make hair grow faster - i am talking from personal experience here.





about styling, youll just have to experiment with your hair to see wats best and not

How many men out there still have the same hair style / cut / combing pattern that your mother gave you when you were growning up? Honest to God or whoever you wish...99% of the men I know have the exact same hair cut, hair style, combing direction...that they had growing up as a little boy??!! Time for a change maybe? Women are expected to change EVERYTHING about our appearance (hair, clothes, shoes, makeup, etc) about every 3 months, so why do so many women put up with their man looking like they did 5, 10 ,15, 20, etc. years ago!???Men's hairstyles / hair cuts / combing?
As a kid, I had the 80's bowl cut. Reason being that:





1.) I didn't care.


2.) It was easy for my parents and they had enough to deal with just my being their son already.





Now, I take care of that stuff myself and my main motivation is practicality.





My hair is now just short enough that is can't be grabbed hold of.





This has a few advantages:





1.) I've been training in martial arts for over 20 years now. To have long hair feels dangerous to me because hair that can be grabbed can be pulled which means your head and neck can be easily controlled... just like walking down the street with my hands in my pockets - hands out, you can use them, hands in you can't use them.... even when you need to.





My cue to get my hair cut is when I can get a good grip on my own hair.





2.) I get up, jump in the shower and am out in 10 minutes in the morning. Most of that time is spent in a daze waking up to be honest.





3.) I get dressed, walk into my bathroom, shake my head around, and I'm good to go.





4.) Short cuts have been popular off and on through the years and I've been told I should change my style a few times. Funny, that if I say 'I see why you would think that' then do nothing, a few months later, its back in style without me changing a thing.





5.) I have a few cowlicks that just don't work unless I have short hair. The short cut eliminates the problem.





6.) Most importantly, those who judge me on my hair style tell me right away that their judgement is superficial. That means they have save my time and effort telling me all I need to know about their values without me having to put in any more effort than I do with my hair. To that, I say, thanks.





7.) Lastly, in my experience, just about any woman likes short hair on her man but few insist on long hair. Why fight statistics?

I have a different hairstyle than from my younger days. As I get older, I tend to have my hair cut shorter. I think it is more distinguished looking.





Same for older women. I find older women who have gray hair and who keep it long to look like witches. There is nothing wrong with gray, but one just needs to look age appropriate. Same goes for hair color. Nobody is fooling anyone by coloring their hair when they get into their 40s and 50s.
I have the hairstyle I was born with.

That is what they are there for. Some people can pull off bald and some people can pull off long hair. Best bet is to go to a beauty salon that does female and male hair.

You can do anything you like. But you should take some time to play with it, try different things with it. You will find something that just works.

I'd say that the shorter the hair the better! Short hair is just so much more masculine looking--- and the bald/shaved look is what I personally love.

Try a flat top.... I have no idea because like you said, many guys had long hair.
I had a groovy 'fro in the 1970's. My hair is naturally bone straight but I had a perm on the smallest rods possible to get my fro. You could get an afro wig and then wear black shiney pants, platform shoes, and a polyester printed shirt and you will fit right in.
wear a hat. one of those pimp style hats that would be too cute
It was about collar length for many and kind of messy. Even the frizzy headed guys let it grow to the shoulders and it poofed out - that was highly disburbing! lol
